We’re not the greatest country in the world, but we can be. We will never change the minds of the radical right wing tea-party, bigots, and corporate thugs, but we don’t have to. We outnumber them. We chose Obama to lead in staggering numbers when women’s rights, healthcare, and the middle class were threatened. We shouldn’t stop there though. We can do something about this gun culture. We won’t stop all the violence but we can prevent some of it. Fuck the second amendment. The British aren’t coming, and you don’t need to form a damn militia. We have an extreme gun culture. You can buy an assault rifle at Wal-Mart, but you can’t buy a cd with curse words. What kinda twilight zone shit is that? Also, i could care less about protecting hunters. Go to the damn store and buy some meat. I’ll even do you one better, how about you fashion a bow and arrow and have at it. Go hunt and gather some damn priorities. Our children are more important than venison. The NRA may own a good portion of these Republicans but they don’t own us. Get angry. Demand change. Sign petitions, and bombard these lazy ass senators with emails and calls. We’re better than this. If there’s one thing I can say about the tea party is that they take advantage of every civil liberty they have. I wish Democrats would do the same, and I pray our Democratic congressmen and women hold their ground on the fiscal cliff and gun control, and if they don’t, lets hold them accountable. They work for us, not the damn NRA, opinion polls, corporate interests or pundits. These banker thugs that helped bring our economy to near collapse won’t be affected by tax hikes if we go over the cliff. Maybe they’ll take fewer joy rides in the Lamborghini, but that’s about it. We deserve better. We should demand better.

Meanwhile on Hannity, Ann Coulter says GOP should give in to Obama on taxes.
Hell has frozen over.

Saw Grover Norquist on Piers Morgan rattling off his twilight-zone GOP rhetoric on how taxing the rich stifles small business growth and job creation. On this blog I try to pierce the bubble they live in whenever I can. So here’s a chart full of facts and figures during the Clinton years.

The debt ceiling has never been an issue. It was raised during the Reagan years. We all know what this is about.
